| Overview The Department for Enterprise is committed to delivering reforms to employment legislation, which ensures that the Island is aligned with international standards and remains a competitive and attractive place to work and conduct business.
The Department has made a number of notable changes to employment legislation this year and is currently preparing further improvements, with input from representative groups, employers and workers themselves. In 2024 the Department released a number of consultations to the public for input. The consultation on Annual Leave and Rest Breaks provided many useful insights. Before progressing with changes to annual leave provision, further work is required to investigate what is currently offered by Isle of Man businesses. |
It was decided that the Department will progress with introducing a statutory right to rest breaks for all workers. At this stage, the Department would like to understand what is currently offered by employers that do not already have to provide a rest break by law. |
